ABOUT CHUCK WADE SOD FARM
After an earlier business relationship failed, a determined Chuck Wade set out on his own with a used truck, used tools and no money. He began doing small jobs, grading, sodding, seeding and clean up work.
In 1970 Chuck Wade Landscaping was formed in Boyds, in Montgomery Co., MD.
In 1972 he began installing sod for small builders and construction companies. He also started selling top soil that he was able to clean from local farm yards. No job was too small and his attention to customer service was becoming well known.
His business was growing enough for him to purchase more equipment and hire more employees. In 1974 the company was doing large installation jobs all around the Washington Metro Area with the help of hardworking and dedicated employees. The top soil portion of the business was expanding by demand.
In 1980 Chuck bought an old dairy farm in Adamstown in Frederick Co., MD. After much clean up of the 150 acre farm, he began planting Maryland Certified Turfgrass to provide the best quality sod for his current commercial customers and his growing homeowner business. High quality , freshly harvested sod and quality installation has been the hallmark of the company from the beginning.
With more growth coming to Frederick Co., more homeowners were becoming interested in sodding their own yards or having the company grade and sod for them. The company turned more to supplying and doing smaller local installations. Eventually, with a shrinking labor force, fazing out of installations totally to focus on growing and supplying fresh sod and topsoil.
The company was founded on the principals
of honesty, quality products and service and
fair pricing. Superior customer service
continues to be our goal. We are happy to
answer your questions and if we don't know the answer in the office - Chuck will.
